Memory Makers Love Windows Vista

March 9th, 2006

Do you believe that Windows Vista requires 800MB of RAM? Here's the prove: Vista set to swallow 800MB of RAM [the Inquirer].

News.com:

Microsoft is recommending that PC makers put a minimum of 512MB of DRAM on each PC but is strongly advising that manufacturers and consumers really think about going instead for 1GB.

I'm currently running on 512. I'm going to add some RAMs in preparation to upgrade at the end of year. I suppose the price will definitely rise, if the demand is getting higher after the release of Vista.

800MB of memory would be way too much for any user. I’m guessing it’s the UI that’s sucking up the resources.
