Microsoft Announced 8 Versions of Windows Vista

We currently have 6 versions of Windows XP and Microsoft is going to release 8 versions of Windows Vista (according to Fox News).

On the line up are Windows Starter 2007; Windows Vista Enterprise; Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vista Home Premium, Windows Vista ultimate, Windows Vista Business, Windows Vista Home Basic N and Windows Vista Business N.

What are the 6 version of the current Windows XP? I thought on 2: Windows XP Home Ed and Pro Ed?

They are XP Home, Professional, Media Center, Tablet PC, and Professional x64, and the Windows XP N editions. 🙂

Surely having 8 different versions of Windows on the shelf is going to confuse many users. Personally I think they should just stick to Home, Pro, Tablet and Media; as life would be so much more simple.
