Yahoo! Instant Search

September 26th, 2005

If you might have missed out, Yahoo has introduced new Yahoo! Search interface, Yahoo! Instant Search. This new search feature, which is still in beta, find the most related result and show it instantly as soon as you typed in your keywords. I find that this feature is a combination of Google's I'm Feeling Lucky button and Google Suggest.

To support the new feature, Yahoo! is providing a forum to discuss about it. In addition to that, if you find that the feature is useful, you can choose to add it to your current Yahoo! Search page.

Personally, I would say that it's always a good to introduce new idea to create some competition between search engines. Since I'm not a Yahoo! user, I might try a few days if the new feature would make me switch, although I mostly won't change. What do you think?

If my article helped you solved your problem, consider buy me a beer!

It seems a bit pointless really because it only works for common searches. It’s fine if you type bbc but something like k3nt it returns nothing. So I don’t really see the point of it…

Yes, I agree because we normally don’t search for the common sites.
