New PR Search Engine

December 28th, 2005

After the great Google, here comes a new PR based search engine created by Shel Holtz. I see that the site is trying to compete with Google as they are providing a "compare this search engine to Google" link on the main page and also all the result pages.

I'm not good in search engine technologies and I don't know how well it would work but I'm sure his effort is definitely worth a look.

If they’re going to compete with Google, they’re definitely going to have to get a new (memoriable) domain name..

EngLee says:

Agree. The domain is really too long to be memorized. Or probably it’s only a temporary domain to test its technology.

LcF says:

It is powered by Swicki. It is quite interesting project. Everyone can create their own search engine and integrate in your website (blog).

EngLee says:

Yes, it is indeed very interesting.

I understand that Swicki works this way: The hot searches (box) will keep track of the keywords or niche topics that the people around you would search. Then, by keeping track of those, they claimed that they will be able to deliver more relevant search results.

Have you try to add it to your any of your sites? I do hope to hear some feedbacks. 🙂
