Fix WordPress Trackback/Pingback Permalinks

December 23rd, 2005

Most of you (WordPress users) must already have enabled the WordPress permalink structure to make it more search engine friendly. If you haven’t, I strongly recommend you to do so.

As for those who have installed, have you ever notice that some of the trackback links (or pingback links) actually uses the old basic link (http://blog.enrii.com/index.php?p=1) rather than the SEO-ed link (http://blog.enrii.com/2005/09/15/hello-world/)?

What causes this?

You have that particular saved as draft before you publish it, rather than posting it directly.

How to fix it?

Install FixBack plugin created by Bennett McElwee.

AhYaw,

No problem, man. I guess there are still lots of people out there faced the same problem like we did!

I’m wondering whether the WordPress team have fixed this in WordPress 2.0.

Elliot Swan,

Probably you never save your post as draft before publishing. Or, maybe you never check your trackback links after publishing! 😉
